Status
" No man is an Island, entire of
itself"
- John Donne (1624)
This section of the website is dedicated to
explaining the new status system as adopted by Clan Gangrel. All
official, recognized Gangrel should adopt this system so that their
Gangrel can be recognized by others of our kind.
If you have any queries or suggestions on the
status system, e-mail
me and I'll get straight on it!
A title is chosen from each section and compiled
to create a statement about your Gangrel character.
Lineage
- "Wilderness Blood" - Usual Gangrel embrace and
induction.
- "Volition and Task" - An adopted Caitiff of
another Clan
- "Volition and Blood" - A Caitiff of Gangrel
blood
Allegiance
The Lineage statement is followed by one of the following
statements about your Current faction allegiance
- "Of Camarilla"
- "Of Sabbat"
- "Of Anarchs"
- "Of Autarkis"
- "Of Inconnu"
There is another title "Of Wyld Blood" which means the Gangrel in
question never comes to court or gets involved in Politics. NO
PC can have this. EVER
Time and Generation
- "Elder" - Elder of the Clan by blood and age
(250+ years and 8th gen or above)
- "Potency" - Elder by blood (8th gen or closer
to Caine)
- "Ancient" - Elder by age (250+
years)
- "Archaic" - Elder by age (750+
years)
Responsibility
- "Speaker" - Speaks for the Clan in the
UK.
- "Ranger" - This replaces "Elders" appointed by
the clan, and represents a Gangrel who has been entrusted to Guide
other Gangrel and preserve the interests of the Clan in the given
area.
- "Journeyman" - A probationary
Ranger.
- "Seeker" - This refers to a Clan member who
has accepted a particular duty.
- "Tale Spinner" - This refers to a Gangrel
bard.
- "Weaver Of Experience" - Only one PC may hold
this title at any one time. It refers to the IC Gangrel Clan Bard
for the UK. It replaces "Tale Spinner" when held.
- Other rare titles are "Justicar" and "Archon",
these are self explanatory and not appointed by the clan.
Exiled from Clan
If a Gangrel is cast from the Clan then their lineage statement is
replaced by one of three statements, Outcast Blood,
Rogue or Galikit.
- "Outcast Blood" - This means at court or Clan
meetings, they will be considered Caitiff. However,in the wilds
their heritage of blood is still recognaised and stories can be
exchanged. It is possible to rejoin the Clan by passing word
through such meetings. If they choose to leave the Clan, then they
are Caitiff and have no recognaised lineage.
- "Rogue" - This means they have asked to be
removed from the Clan to protect the Clan, due to actions they
have made, or wish to take, or any reasons they feel such action
is justified. They cannot claim any connection to Clan Gangrel.
However, they can ask to rejoin at some future time if the
situation has changed.
- "Galikit" - This is the worst, a member who is
given this is considered without hope of return. There is no way
back in to the Clan for them.
Further, each Gangrel should pick two short
statements to describe things they have done which they are proud
of.
Something like;
"Survived the Battle of Doncaster by the side of
Markov"
These titles can change if you do something which
you feel better describes yourself. These statements will be what
your fellow Clan members judge you on. So choose
carefully!
Anyone found using a false statement will aquire
the label "Words Of No Value", which replaces one of your statements.
On a second occurrence, your second statement is replaced by "Nothing
Of Note"
If you are having trouble deciding on how to
describe your character, simple look at the Who's
Who section for guidance.
