My condolescences go out to Garth and his family for the loss of his mom. She certainly was a special woman to all that knew her and even to those of us that did not personally know her.

Mary, from Albany NY

I thought it was time that I expressed my thoughts on Mama Brooks. She seemed to be a very gentle, kind and caring person. We saw her at the last performance in College Station. She and Mr. Brooks were just walking around the audience speaking with people. She never thought she was above anyone. She will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are still with the family wishing them strength.

Tammy

I also wanted to express my condolences on the loss of Mama Brooks. I can't say that I know what it's like to lose a parent, but I ALMOST lost my mom when I was 6. She had cancer. Probably the closest person to a parent or sibling that I've lost would be my best friend. We were always together; practically joined at the hip. When she passed on, a part of me went with her. I can imagine that's part of what Garth and his family are going through. I understand that he's holding up pretty well. As I do, I'm sure he'll have times where he feels worse than others. My prayers will always be with him and the Brooks family. They say the first year is always the hardest. I will never again be able to listen to "Silent Night" without thinking of Colleen Carroll Brooks. I never got a chance to meet her, but from what I heard from Teresa (you holding up OK out there?), she was a great lady, a great mother, and a great friend to have. I can see why everyone that met her loved her. I feel sad though that I'll never have that chance.
"Dreams can come true with GOD'S GREAT ANGELS LIKE YOU!!!!" -- from 'It's Your Song" by Garth Brooks, in memory of Mrs. Colleen Carroll "Mama" Brooks. May she rest in peace.

I just wanted to express my deepest sympathy to Garth and his family in the recent loss of his mother. My mom always told me that it is very difficult to lose one or both of your parents but the biggest loss would be to lose one of your children....I understand that but at this time, I think losing your mother or father has got to be the worst pain imaginable. My heart is with you Garth and know how very much she was loved by so many.
With love,

To Garth:

My sympathy to you and your family on the death of your Mom. My own dear Mom is no longer living, so I know the heartbreak you are experiencing.

I have purchased your Chris Gaines singles and have planned them countless times. I especially like It Don't Matter To The Sun, but also like Lost In You. I have reserved in advance a copy of the complete CD and am looking forward to it's release.

Best of luck to you on your new venture. I know your fans are behind you and looking forward to your next project.

God Bless and keep you in His care.

Take Care,
Terri Clark from Medina, Ohio
