My job was law enforcement. I felt that my place was to protect people. from other people until I got shot. Then animals became my priority. For fun I worked out daily, I worked out on a weight machine 4 days a week for about 10 years, I did a little bit of leather work, I used to go dancing and I really enjoyed music. I played and coached softball and I played a bit of golf.

I shared an apartment with a friend of mine. I had already been divorced twice. I was the kind of person that if anyone was in need for anything I was the first one to help. I helped a lot of people. I have one old friend around, his name is Ron Teague. He and I used to go help everybody together. I tried to always be good to just about everyone.

I was assigned to Oklahoma City's Animal Control Division as a field supervisor. I worked my way up into management, and became their administrative aide. As the administrative aide for the Animal Welfare Division for the State of Oklahoma, I coordinated animal control and, set up the Oklahoma City Training Academy for training animal control officers.

I traveled statewide preparing officers for state required certification through my academy, and was the Special projects coordinator for the State of Oklahoma. I was also a defensive driving trainer licensed by the Highway Patrol of Oklahoma.

I was also responsible for learning more and better ways to control our animal population. I was asked to attend a seminar for animal control which was being held in Orlando, Florida. I chose to drive there from Oklahoma City. I was 17 miles south of Dallas, Texas when a pickup truck crossed the center median, in the air mind you, and landed directly on the hood of my Jeep. He was traveling at a speed of 85 mph at the point of impact.
