DANNY ARNOLD
STILL AN ARSE!

As usual, I didn't go to the game, it was, after all more than 5 miles away - so it was time to sit on my fat arse and watch it all on SKY, listening to Stevo & Eddie drone on about how great Uuddersfield were
(So great - they had a little trouble scoring!!!!)

What a day, it was wetter than Mrs Janus gets when she sees me in my Lycra cycling shorts. I'm sure I saw Duncan Goodhew doing the breast-stroke on the halfway line, or it could have been Joynty scratching his arse, I'm just not sure.

The game opened well with Freddie Ferret crashing over in the corner for a superb try. After that it was all slog, slog, slog as Saints were put under tremendous pressure by Uuddersfield and Mr Presley.
Saints most improved player of this season, Paul Atcheson made a superb attempt at clearing the ball at the very end of the 1st half - sliding halfway to Leeds as he did so.

My favourite moment of the 1st half was when John Bentley smashed his face into the hoardings behind the line - it seemed to affect his whole game after that, as he tried to snot almost everyone on the field, and I don't think he was trying to give Longy a peck on the cheek when he suddenly lunged his forehead in the direction of Shaun's face. All of this went totally un-noticed by Mr Presley of course.

Apollo was placed on report for allowing Nobby Goulding to run into him and fall over in a melodramatic fashion. Surely it should have been Goulding on report for his over-acting.

It was difficult conditions to play Rugby League in, which accounted for more dropped balls than a NHS vasectomy clinic. But it didn't excuse all the high shots from the Uddersfield players, ex Saint Jon Neill having more than his fair share of free shots.

For me, Saints outstanding players of the day were Kieron Cunningham (again) for his usual superb running from dummy half, Paul Newlove who ran well in spells, and young Shaun Barrow who showed a lot of promise and a quick pace.
Chris Smith however, played like a complete tit, nothing he did went right. He has had a few good games this season, but tonight was not his night. Might I suggest we keep him on the bench if it rains again.

A number of the Uddersfield players impressed me, Basil Richards for one (how would you like that ugly bastard running at you full pelt), and my personal Man of the Match was the full back Reilly who had a superb game in both defence and attack. How did Nobby Goulding get the viewers choice as MoM??

Anyway, a great game to watch (despite the conditions) and a great result for the Saints - still unbeaten at the top of the Superleague. Are you watching Pie-Eaters???????
