I will remember you

Zac sighed. He was looking at old photographs of his family, before everything had happened. He thought about how they always said that the band wouldn't break up, couldn't break up. But they were wrong. Taylor turned into an attention loving freak of nature, never letting Isaac or Zac get a word in edgewise. It was always Taylor.

Then, Isaac decided that the pressures of performing and lack of love in his life was too much, so he basically quit, leaving Taylor and Zac to fend for themselves. They decided that they couldn't go on, and despite the world's objections, the band once called Hanson was barely even a family now. 15 years later, a now 33 year old Zac looked at one of their CD jackets. Middle of Nowhere, his favorite album. Only one that hit top 3, even though some of their other releases had come close.

He wished they were still together. He hadn't seen Taylor for 3 years, and he hadn't seen Isaac since he left the band. He was 38, and was rumored to be working on a new album with his wife, Gemi. Gemi was the lead singer of the band, Us, and was a few months younger then Zac. The couple had been married almost 5 years now, but had no kids.

Zac had had a few girlfriends himself, but nothing too serious. His love for music and playing always got in the way somehow. He didn't have any children, obviously, and he rarely kept in touch with his family. The tabloids were always printing stories about how he was on heroin or crack, or some other drugs. Zac had to laugh at theses. He had never even smoked a cigarette.

Taylor was a funny guy. He had been divorced twice, and had a daughter, 7, from his first marriage. He had decided to give up on music, and was living in a small Bel-Air mansion, home to only him and his daughter.

Zac slowly set down the heavy book, and looked intensely at the phone, which was on the wall just a few inches away from him. He wanted to talk to them so badly. All he had to do was pick up the phone, and dial his parent's number. They had to know what Isaac and Taylor's numbers were… They just had to. But what would they think? Would they even be home? Would they even want to talk to him? Questions swarmed through Zac's head, as he numbly picked up the cordless phone and blindly dialed the familiar number.

Once he got what he was looking for, Zac slowly dialed Isaac's phone number with shaking fingers. He listened to the phone ring, and when his older brother picked up, Zac was to scared to talk.

"Hello?" Isaac said. There was silence on the other end. "Hello? Is anyone there?" he heard heavy breathing on the other end of the phone. "Listen, whoever this is… If you're not going to talk, I'm going to hang up." Isaac slowly took the receiver away from his ear, but then heard a tiny voice cry "No!"

"Who is this?" Isaac asked cautiously.

"It's me Ike…" Zac responded in a tiny voice.

"I don't have time for games. Who are you?"

"Zac."

"Zac… ZAC?" Isaac gasped, almost dropping the receiver.

"Hey man. Long time no talk."

"I'll say! God, what has it been? 15, 16 years?" Isaac grinned, happy to ear his little brother.

"15. Have you talked to Taylor?" Zac asked.

"Every now and then, yeah. We thought you were mad at us or something!" Isaac exclaimed.

"I thought you two were mad at me!" Zac laughed.

The conversation went on for a few hours, the brothers trying to catch up on the past 15 years. When it was finally time to hang up, Zac said a few words that would change the way they felt about each other.

"Isaac, I love you."
