(A)----ADMIT that YOU are a sinner.
Everyone has
done things that are displeasing to a
Holy God.
Romans 3:23: "All have sinned
and come short of the glory of God"
God tells us that no sin can enter heaven.
Something must be done to get rid of
your sin.
Revelation 21:27: "And there
shall in no wise enter into it (heaven)
any thing that defileth, neither
whatsoever worketh abomination, or
maketh a lie:
but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life."
(B)---- BELIEVE that Jesus died on the
cross for YOU.
Jesus shed his blood to save YOU from YOUR sins.
He took YOUR place on the cross, and suffered
punishment for YOUR sin.
1 Peter 2:24:
"Who His own self (Jesus) bore our sins
in His own body on the tree (cross) that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness."
Colossians 1:14: "In Whom we have redemption (salvation) through His (Jesus') blood, even the forgiveness of sins."
Acts 16:31:
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and
thou shalt be saved."
(C)---- CONFESS your sinfulness to God,
and turn from it.
Tell God you're sorry for your sins and that you believe in Jesus and accept Him as your Savior from sin.
This may be a simple but sincere cry from your heart, or it may be expressed out loud.
Luke 18:13: "God be merciful to me a sinner."
Romans 10:13:
"Whosoever shall call upon the name of
the Lord shall be saved."
When you do this (and mean it!) you are "saved."
You, along with all the others who
believe in Jesus, will spend eternity in heaven with Him.
If after reading the ABC'S of Salvation, you would like to make sure YOU know
Jesus Christ as your personal Savior,
here is a suggested prayer you can pray.
You do not need to pray these exact words. In fact, a sincere prayer from your heart is what the Lord wants to hear.
But…to help you know what to say in your prayer,
I suggest the following:
"Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and cannot save myself or do anything to earn a home in Heaven.
I believe You are
the Son of God, and that You died on the cross for MY sins.
I believe You rose again from the dead for ME.
Right now, the best I know how, I tell
You I am sorry for my sins. I ask You to forgive
my sins, and to come into my heart and
life and be my Savior.
Help me to live
as a Christian should, knowing that Your Holy Spirit now lives within me to help
me every day. In Jesus' Name, Amen."
