Dr./Captain Benjamin WOFFORD was born on 29 January 1819 in Spartanburg, Spartanburg District, now Spartanburg County, South Carolina. He was the son of Joseph Llewellyn WOFFORD, Sr. and Jane HUCKABEE/HUCKABER.
He was a Captain in the Confederate States Army. He served as a Captain of a Company of Reserves during the later part of the Civil War and did some military service at Charleston, South Carolina.
