MONTHLY MEETING MINUTES

JULY 6, 1999

Latimer County Firefighters Association monthly meeting was held at Wilburton City Hall. Department present were: Ash Creek, Red Oak, West End, Wilburton and Veterans Colony.

The Meeting was called to order by President Neal Wood.

Kathy Huddleston from Kiamichi Electric Cooperative gave a presentation explaining Operation Round-Up.

Minutes were submitted by Sec./Treasurer Gary Burnett and approved. Treasurers report was given by Gary Burnett. Four departments have paid due. We are waiting on incorporation paperwork for tax exempt status to open a bank account at Latimer State Bank.

All departments reported on runs made.

A motion was made and passed to let the training personnel select a training officer.

Danny Baldwin gave a report on the HazMat trailer that has been built as a supplemental Environmental Enhancement Project according to an agreement with EPA. Danny also reported that $175,000 grant had been secured to help build a fire training center.

TRAINING:

It was announced that the Ropes Rescue Class will be held July 17 and 18 at Robbers Cave State Park from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Cost is $25.

LPG Training Course at Heavener - August 13 and 20. No cost.

Vehicular Extrication Class at Heavener - Sept. 25 and 26.

Next months training will be Fire Behavior.

It was announced that a fish fry was to be held at the Veterans Colony July 16.

Meeting adjourned at 7:35 p.m. Pumper testing was held at Wilburton City Lake following the meeting.
