CURRICULUM GUIDE:
SEMESTER (6&7TH GRADE):
Use of Book En Español 1.
Units 1 - 3 and Workbook.
1 YEAR (9TH GRADE):
Use of Book En Español 1.
Units 1 - 6 and Workbook.
SPEAKING SKILL:
Daily in class through pair and group work presentations as well as individual participation in class.
WRITING SKILL:
Daily in class.Homework will be given about the subject practiced in class. It will be rewieved and graded.
LISTENING:
Daily in class through Audio & Video activities, use of tapes, CD’s and movies.
READING:
News, magazines, poems and short stories.
WRITING ASSIGNMENTS:
All writing assignments and homework are given each day, reviewed in class the next day and are due as a portfolio presentation each Friday.
ORAL AND WRITTEN REPORTS:
There is a report about the culture and customs of a Spanish-speaking country at the end of each semester.
TESTS:
Quizzes are given once a week and students need to be prepared daily.There is a Test after each lesson and a Semester Test.
1. Set aside study time each evening. At that time turn off the television. Most people study better in a quiet atmosphere.
2. Make yourself available for your son or daughter. Help him or her with questions.
. 3. Your son or daughter should know his or her grade each week by requesting it after class. A grade report will be sent home on the 5th week each 9 week period.
4. Call me if you have any doubts about anything concerning your son or daughter. My planning period is from 11:05- 12:00 am.. The office phone number is 246-1535.
