Ted A. McGuire
Class of 1956
Ted A. McGuire graduated from Crescent High School with the Class of 1956. After serving in the Air Force and working other jobs, Mr. McGuire was hired by Elmer Carmichael in bookkeeping with the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Crescent in 1965. He then went on to work as a teller and in lending until 1972. While working at Farmers and Merchants, Mr. McGuire was active in the Lions Club and began a thirty two year avocation as a pilot. He is a thirty year member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots
Association.
From 1972 to 1979, Mr. McGuire was Executive Vice President of Security National Bank and Trust in Blackwell. He was active in Lions Club there as well.
In 1979, he moved to Enid as Executive Vice President of Security National Bank. While in Enid, Mr. McGuire taught commercial lending at the local vo-tech for all Northwest Oklahoma Bankers and was a member of the Enid Lions Club. He returned to Security Bank and Trust of Blackwell as President in 1982.
In 1983, Mr. McGuire became President and CEO of RCB Bank in Claremore. Since he joined RCB, the bank has grown from $72 million in assets to approximately $520 million, and from one location to ten with 280 employees. RCB is ranked today as the 12th largest bank in Oklahoma.
RCB is one of the state’s largest participants of General Collen Powell’s America’s Promise Program. America’s Promise is a national organization that works with public,private and not-for-profit organizations to help young people prepare for successful futures. Mr. McGuire was inaugurated as 2000-01 Chairman for the Oklahoma Bankers Association. In conjunction with his inauguration, Mr. McGuire was awarded a Citation ofCongratulations by the Oklahoma State Senate. A portion of the citation states:“Whereas, through dedication, hard work and diligence, Ted A. McGuire has earned the respect and admiration of his peers, family, community and citizens of Oklahoma; and Whereas, this is a most appropriate time for the Senate of Oklahoma to express sincere
congratulations to Ted A. McGuire and to wish him much success.”
Mr. McGuire is past President of the Claremore and Blackwell Chambers of Commerce, past Chairman of the Claremore Regional Hospital Board and past Chairman of the Rogers University Foundation. While he was chair, the University Foundation raised over three million dollars for their Capital Campaign. He is currently an active member of the Claremore Rotary Club and the Rogers Aero Federation. He was appointed by the Mayor of Tulsa to the Tulsa Airport Fourth Runway Commission. Mr. McGuire is a member of the Board of Directors for Life Assurance of Oklahoma City.
He graduated from he Graduate School of Banking at LSU and is past
chairman of the Northwest Chapter of the American Institute of Banking, past Chairman of the Oklahoma Bankers Association Government Relations Committee and has also served as Chairman of the Senior Management Committee for the Oklahoma Bankers Association. He served from 1990-1993 on the Government Relations Committee of the American Bankers Association.
Ted A. McGuire is a truly distinguished alumnus of Crescent High School.
