Brenda Myers Thompson
Class of 1989
After a successful career as a business owner in the medical industry, in 2002, Brenda Thompson made the decision to pursue real estate, something she had always had a strong interest in. Licensed in 2002 and began her career with Keller Williams Realty. It turned out to be a perfect fit and she was a top-producing rookie that year. In 2004, she got her Broker's license, opened her own firm and built a team of successful realtors.
Continuing the success of Thompson's own firm, she was approached by United Real Estate, who were looking for someone with experience, knowledge and expertise to launch their flagship office. In 2011, she agreed to become the Managing Broker for the very first United Read Estate office in the nation. In only five years the Dallas office has grown to over 300 agents and averages over 100 million in sales volume each month in 2015. Thompson has led the Dallas office to achieve Top Brokerage Office for United Real Estate nationally every year since opening the office: 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Thompson's dedication to advancement in her career may be noted in the many designations/certifications she has achieved, which include ABR, ASR, CSR, ePRO, GRI, RECS, SFR TAHS and TRLP. She previously served on the Board of Directors at Collin County Association of Realtors. She recently graduated from Class 24 MetroTex/TRLP Leadership Academy Class, graduating with honors.
Dan Duffy, CEO of United Real Estate, also credits the hard work of Thompson with being at the core of the office's success. Thompson has been named Best Realtors in Dallas by D Magazine and was recognized by Texas Monthly Magazine for being a 5 Star Real Estate Professional. Additionally, she is continually expanding her expertise and involvement. She currently serves on the Texas Association of Realtors Professional Development Committee, and TAR Pro-fissional Standards Committee. She has been featured on the cover of Texas Top Agent Magazine, as well as articles by Agents Today which published in Forbes, Wall Street Journal and Business Week.
United Real Estate has expanded Thompson's role to Area Vice President in addition to her role as Managing Broker. She will guide the development of area franchises, along with her current responsibilities in the original office in Dallas. "I love what I do, and it shows. I think that's what attracts agents to work with me. They see my excitement, not only for real estate, but for helping them build and develop their businesses. They trust in a Broker who is knowledgeable and well respected in the industry and can strategize and direct for continued future growth. The past five years have been one amazing experience after another, and the future promises to be even more exciting."
In addition to her busy career, Thompson shares a passion for collecting classic cars with her husband. Their family includes two rescue boxers, which are the highlight of their home.
