I looked around outside the school to find Ash. She wasn’t n e where in site so I went up to my friends. They all said hi. I listened as they talked about what they were doing this summer.

I watched as Ash got out of her mom’s car and walked up to Justin. She smiled and waved at me. I was getting ready to go over there when Brad pulled me back.

“Are you ready for a dare?” He asked loudly.

“Umm.. I guess.” I said.

“I dare you to go kiss Ash in front of Justin.” Brad said.

“Why?” I asked.

“Because I want to see if he gets mad.” He replied.

“You need to find a new hobby.” I said walking over to Ash.


“Hey Zac.” Ash said.

“Hi.” I replied.

“CHICKEN!” Brad yelled at me.

“What’s that all about?” Ash asked.

“They’re just being stupid.” I said.

“Ok.” she said.


“Yo Zac!” Michael said from behind me.

“Yeah?” I asked.

“Come here.” he said.

I walked over to him. “Do u need something?”

“Yeah, are you not going to do that dare?” He asked.

“Nah.” I replied.

“Are you afraid to kiss her?” Mike asked laughing.

“No!” I yelled.

“Prove it.” He said pushing me.

I turned around and glared at him. I walked back up to Ash, and stood beside her. Finally the bell rang and I went to my locker. After that Ash, Justin, and I walked to our 1st hour class. I looked at my friends as they laughed their heads off. I gave them a puzzled look as Ash turned me around. On the board it said, Zac is a Chicken!!!!!! I sat down in my desk and copied the notes that were on the board.

“What’s that all about?” Ash asked me.

“They dared me to do something and I said no.” I told her.

“Oh.” She replied as the teacher walked in.


After School:

My so-called “friends” had been tormenting me all day. I was getting sick and tired of it. I had gotten in trouble by a teacher for “slamming my locker to hard.” It was just another bad day. We walked out of the school and started talking. I could see my friends from the corner of my eyes. I leaned over and kissed Ash. She gave me a weird look as my friends started cheering.

“What do you think ur doing?” Justin said grabbing me by the shirt.

“Dude, it was a dare.” I told him.

“Are you sure?” He asked.

“Yes, it was nothing more than a dare. I promise.” I said.

“Ok.” he said letting me go. “I’m sorry.”

“It’s ok.” I said.


Ash’s View:

I looked at my surroundings. Zac’s friends were laughing at him. Justin had left to go to baseball practice.
“Come on Zac.” I said pulling him behind me towards the bus.

We got on and found an empty seat. I sat down by the window, and looked out. Zac’s friend pointed as the bus drove away. I let out a sigh.

“What?” Zac asked.

“You never back down from a dare do you.” I said with a smile.

“Nope.” He said smiling.

We both got off at the same spot and walked to our separate houses. As always we turned around as we reached the door and waved. I walked into my house and up the stairs to put my book bag down in my room. Hallie was sitting on her bed when I walked in.

“Watcha doing?” I asked her.

“Reading a book.” She said.

“Sis! It’s the summer, go outside and play!” I said laughing.

“I will I only have 1 more chapter to this.” Hallie said.

“Ok, well mom will probably have dinner ready in a bit.” I told her.

“Ok. yell at me when it’s ready.” She said.

“K. bye.” I replied walking out the door.

I smiled Hallie always was the smart one of the family. But she hardly ever showed it. I walked downstairs and flipped on the tv. I watched it and fell asleep on the couch.
