I waited anxiously for Zac to call. I had been sitting by the phone for 30 minutes. Knowing Zac he would probably forget about the time difference and call me at midnight. But I figured he wouldn’t. He was usually smarter than that. I began to think about other things. I was in a daze. When the phone rang I jumped a mile off of the couch.

“Hello?” I asked.

“How long have you been waiting by the phone?” Zac asked.

“30 minutes.” I replied.

He laughed. “Howdy Twin.”

“Hey.” I said.

“Did ya get my note?” He asked.

“Yes,” I replied. “I’m sooooooo sorry that I overslept.”

“It’s ok. I’ve done that before.” Zac replied.

“Yeah, I know you have.” I said. “But it wasn’t as important as this.”

“Chill twin. I’m not going to die.” He said.

“Ok.” I said finally.

“Have your parents said when you can come with us on tour yet?” He asked.

“Nope. They said they’d figure it out by the end of the week.” I replied.

“Dang it.” Zac said.

“Yeah, that’s the same way I feel right now.” I said.

“Yup.” He said.

“So how do you like touring?” I asked him.

“It’s ok.” Zac said.

“Yeah, right.” I replied.

“What do you mean?” He asked.

“You know you love it.” I said.

“You know me to well.” Zac said.

“Yes, I do.” I replied.

“Ok, well I’ll e-mail you. Cuz I have to get up early for a show.” Zac said.

“Ok bye bye twin.”

“Bye twin!” Zac said hanging up.

I looked at the clock we had talked for about 25 minutes. I was bored so I went upstairs and grabbed the book I had been reading. I laid down and fell asleep in my bed.


Dreams:

I woke up the next morning thinking about my dream. It was simple but weird. I dreamed that I was at school and I just started running and I didn’t stop, even though ppl were yelling at me. Then I woke up, it just ended in the middle of nowhere. I walked downstairs in my pj’s. I flipped on the TV and laid down on the couch like I usually did. I sat there for a little bit before my mom came in.

“Ash, we’re all going out do you want to come?” She asked.

“Nah. I wanna lay around and be lazy.” I said with a smile.

“Ok, well we’ll be back in a little bit.”

“K.” I replied.

“Diana said that Zac would try to call around noon so keep the lines open.” She said.

“I will.” I said.

“And you’ll be watching Hal too.” Mom said.

“Ok.” I replied.

I watched as the entire family walked out. Hal was probably up in her room reading that book. I just sat there and enjoyed the quietness. It was hardly ever like this, especially with 5 girls and 1 baby on the way. It was always noisy.


Noon:
I woke up to Hallie shaking me. “Ash, Zac’s on the phone.”

“Ok.” I replied sitting straight up. She handed me the phone.

“Has n e one ever told you that u sleep too much?” He asked.

“No.” I said with a smile.

“Well they should.” Zac said.

“So what are you guys doing now?” I asked.

“Goofing off.” Zac replied in a weird voice.

“I shoulda known.” I said.

“Hey Tay wants to talk to you.” Zac said unsure.

“Ok, put him on.” I replied.

“K.” he said.


“Hi Ash!” Tay said.

“Hey dude! What’s up?” I asked.

“Nothing really.” He said.

“When is my lil sis gonna get to come see us?” He added.

“My parents are supposed to figure that out sometime this week.” I told him.

“Kewl!” He said.

“How much sugar have you had today?” I asked.

“Not enough!” He said laughing.

I laughed.

“Ok, well Zac wants to talk now. Bye sis!” Tay said.

“Bye bro!” I said listening for Zac.

“K, I’m back.” Zac said.

“Kewl.” I replied.

“Yuppers.” He said.

“When are you going to call me?” I asked.

“Umm… I dunno. Depends.” He replied.

“Oh.” I said sorta disappointed.

“Sorry.” Zac said.

“It’s ok.” I said.

“KK. Well, I’m going to go do the crappin sound checks.” Zac said.

“Ok, bye dude.” I said.

“Bye.” He said and hung up the phone.

I stared at the phone. Then walked up stairs. Hallie was sitting on the bed listening to her walkman. I went and laid down on my bed. I thought about the night everyone was in my room. I told Tay that I didn’t want to go out with Zac, because we had been best friends for way to long. But was it really because of that.. or because I didn’t know what Zac was thinking. I sat there and thought about it. I jumped as the phone rang.

“Hello?” I asked.

“Hi Ash.” Ike said.

“Hey Ike. What’s up?” I asked.

“Nothing. Is Jules there?” He asked.

“Nope, they went out and did something or another.” I told him.

“Okay.” He said.

“So are you having fun on tour?” I asked him.

“Yup. It’s kewl.” He replied.

“That’s awesome.” I said.

“Yuppers, when are you going to be visiting us?” Ike asked.

“Soon I hope. My parents are gonna figure it out sometime this week.” I said.

“That’s kewl, we all miss ya guys.” Ike said.

“We miss u guys too.” I said. “Some more than others.” I muttered under my breath.

“I know how ya feel.” Ike said.

“Yeah, ok well I’ve got to go. Bye.” I said.

“Bye.” Ike said hanging up the phone.

I waited for my parents to get home as I sat on my bed. Hallie still listening to her walkman. I didn’t know if she even knew that I was in there or not. Oh well. I thought. I laid back and looked up at the ceiling thinking about Zac. Did I like him more than a friend????? Were we best friends…. Or something more? I thought over and over.
