My husband and I have lived Spavinaw since 1974, I was born in Tulsa, OK on Oct. 22, 1944. Married to the love of my life Forrest, aka E-Nah-Gay-E for over 32 years. He will have an extra star on his crown for putting up with this crazy Cherokee woman. We have two wonderful daughters living in Oklahoma, Cyndy & Sonia. Three step children, Terri, Skip & Alice. Two grandchildren, Sabrina and Dylan live in Oklahoma, more in California and the newest born, Justice, Oct. 2, 1999 lives in Alaska.
I have been involved in genealogy over twenty five years and have several Cherokee research books in print. I am very pleased to announce I have contracted with Heritage Books, Inc. to publish all six volumes of "Only The Names Remain" series. They consist of the Drennen Roll census of 1851 connected to as many of the Guion Miller Roll of 1910. I have had several contacts that have told me it helped them find that elusive ancestor. So many of the names on the 1851 Drennen Roll had only a Cherokee name or a first name recorded in a district of Indian Territory West (now Oklahoma).
The last couple of years I have been publishing descendants of Caleb Starr & Nancy 'Nannie' Harlin/Harlan of each child of at least five generations. I am very fortunate that I have always lived in Oklahoma and my maternal grandparents, great grandmothers, uncle's, aunt's and cousins were enrolled on the Dawe's Roll and most of their land allotments were in Flint district, (now Stilwell, OK).
The music you hear on this page is from Cherokee singer, songwriter & acoustic guitar player, Jesse Nighthawk.
The title of the song is 'We Are One' from his CD "Ghost Dance The Last Hope"
