In 1995 I retired after a 40-year career at The Norman Transcript. I started as a reporter in 1955 after receiving my Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri; served two years as telegraph editor and eight years as city editor. The last 28 years I was the newspaper' s managing editor.

I've been active in various Norman civic and service organizations. Išve also been active in my church, St. John's Episcopal, having served as senior warden and a member of the Vestry. Currently, I am serving as a lay reader and a member of the Altar Guild.

I've been the recipient of a number of professional and service awards and honors, but the one dearest to my heart came from the home folks in 1999, when I was inducted into the Cushing High School Alumna Hall of Fame.
