CUSHING HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI GRADE SCHOOL MEMORIES CLASS OF 1956 |
|
Harding Grade School was located where the Junior High School and the W.D. Carr gym were constructed. I forget
what other streets it was on.
In her first
year of teaching, Mrs. Juanita Fisher was my first grade teacher. She still
lives in Cushing. Mrs. Stockton was my 3rd grade teacher and Mrs. Virginia
Eicholff was my 5th & 6th grade teacher. Mr. George Dunagon (sp ?) was
the principal and Mr. Herbert Bias succeeded him when he retired.
There was a
lunch room where you could eat your lunch if you brought one, nothing else but
drinking water was provided.
Mr. Terry was
the custodian. He had heat for us in winter but it was open window AC when
the weather was hot!
Troy
Morehouse
from a Classmate who went to Harrison School: "If I remember correctly, and I can't guarantee I do, there is no picture for Harrison that year. Harrison is where I went until the middle of my 5th grade (the school was condemned) and I remember finishing that grade in a classroom at the First Methodist Church. I think we were moved there after Christmas that year. The next year (6th) we were mixed with Harding. I hope this saves you trouble trying to find that picture." Class of 1956
