Stephen Coy Smith, a Cushing resident, passed away Wednesday,
Nov. 8, 2006 at his home in Cushing at age 52.
The son of Billy Don Smith and Lorita (Doughty) Smith, Steve was born Aug.
18, 1954 in Duncan and graduated from Cushing High School with the class
of 1973. After working for several local companies which
included Smith & Culp Casing Pulling, Proctor Casing Pulling,
Mid-Continent Refractory and, in 2000, Steve started his own business,
Carolina Fire Brick.
Steve was an avid deer hunter, loved to play golf and was a huge
fan of the University of Oklahoma.
Steve is survived by his wife, Terri, of the home; one son, Christopher of
the home; one daughter, Jennifer of the home; two brothers, Mike Smith and
his wife, Annie, of Wisconsin and Ronnie Smith and his wife, Betsy, of
Cushing; one sister, Missy Murray of Arizona; several nieces, nephews and
other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Smith and Lorita Smith, and
his grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 13, 2006 in the
Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel, Cushing.
Burial will follow at Euchee Valley Memorial Park, Cushing.
The Smith family requests that donations be made to the Oklahoma Medical
Research Foundation, cancer division.
Services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home.
