Easter : 2002 |
7.12am - April 5 |
We camped once again at Glen Nevis, but in a different area. |
Beeing April, it was friking cold all night, and the only one who |
got any sleep was Rory, but right enough, he is from Largs. |
|
At 5am Bolts could take no more, and warmed up the car. |
Ferge soon followed. This unsceduled wake up signalled our |
escape - we hadn’t yet paid for our tent! |
|
Hopes were high, everything was about ready to go, but then the |
tent guy appeared and charged us...the cheek... |
cold cold cold |
Nowhere was open for munchables, so Rory, aka the housewife, |
made us sandwiches. As bad as they were, they would taste great up a mountain. |
|
Rory has trouble staying on his feet at the best of times (just ask |
Gordon McAskill about that one) so this mountain was likely to |
cause him problems. And indeed it did. |
|
He was not helped by the fact that he decided to walk up the |
highest peak in the UK in jeans. Needless to say he will not make the same mistake again. |
|
For about an hour we thought we were the first climbers of the day, but then we spotted punks waaaaay ahead of us. We reached the halfway waterfall after just under 2 hours. It was sandwich time. |
