I am surronded by Nature books. A monkey's face, a green whale, a
red Indian. So many mysteries of the world held in such a tiny
space. You could spend an eternity learning all the things in
the world. Some aren't as interesting. Others are mysteries that
have intrigued man, and woman, for centuries. I wonder what it's
like to be the discoverer of a new mystery. It would be very
exciting.
I am the great explorer, on my way to make a great discoverey.
I have traveled far and wide, and have now found the perfect
situation for my discovery.
I head out through the thick jungle forest, feeling the leafy
ferns on my arms and legs. The monkeys screech high above in the
trees. The birds, with their many exotic colors, form flurries
of rainbows in the branches.
I make my way through the last bunch of vines and twisting trees.
As my blade slices through the thick green, I stop in amazement.
Light reflects off a huge sand-colored building. It reaches high
above the treetops, pointing, almost stretching to grab the sky.
There are two great stone columns in the front. A dark passage
leads inside.
I slowly make my way up the stone rubble to the passage. I light
my torch and creep into the dark abyss. On the high walls are
beautiful paintings done in primitive colors and styles. I study
them carefully and note their importance in my log.
A flash, a glimmering fleck of light, catches my eye. I turn and
make my way towards a room that smells of must and dampness. The
torch begins to flicker. I squint to see a large shadow in the
corner, which begins to change form and
