St. Joseph spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary and foster father of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Entrusted by God with support and protection of the Holy Family. Feast day: March 19th Patron Saint of the Universal Church Known for: Spiritually assisting those who are selling or buying a home. Special devotion: Because St. Joseph died in the presence of Jesus and Mary...his intercession is sought by those who desire a happy and holy death.

This young lady is dressed in a beautiful pollera. She is standing in front of the Golden Altar in the church of San Jose. This church a must see is located in downtown Panama City in the old part of town called Casco Viejo.

Here is a closer look at the "Golden Altar." The famous English Pirate, Sir Henry Morgan who sacked Panama Viejo missed the church of San Jose and the "Golden Altar." You might ask yourself.... How? Well, the Panamanian people disguised the altar in such a way that it appeared worthless. Like the old saying goes, "If you want to hide something well, hide it in full view by using camouflage." Lucky for the world it fooled Henry Morgan! We can now all enjoy the beauty of this Golden Altar.

Our beloved St. Joseph saint of fathers, families, workers and of a happy death, pray for me and my family, that our homes may be happy and our lives may be blessed. St. Joseph, you loved and protected Mary and Jesus. Watch over my family and keep us always in God's special care.
