The BHS Plaque was the gift of the BHS Class of 1957. The Latin words of "EIDES ET VERITAS" which are found on the top along the inside of the rim of the smaller circle of the BHS Plaque means "Knowledge and Truth."
As all who attended BHS after 1957 remember the plaque became a part of what Balboa High School was all about. Now the bottom rim of the BHS Plaque were the words: "ALMA MATER." Most people know what this means but let me refresh and enlighten those who are still wondering what it all means. "ALMA MATER" literally means means "Nourishing Mother."
