The middle Hanson had invited Hallie and Victoria over on Sunday for a ‘discussion’. He didn’t know what he was going to say, or what he was going to do when they came over. It was Tuesday already, and Sunday was approaching faster than Taylor wanted it to. Taylor felt shaken that he even had to have this conversation with the two of them. He didn’t know if he’d be able to go on without either of them in his life. He cared for them both so much. While Taylor was on his Rocky Road of Love with Hallie and Victoria, it was smooth ridin’ for his younger brother, Zac and his girlfriend, Chrissy. Even while he was away, he remained loyal, loving, and overprotective of her, and she the same. There was something magical yet controversial about there relationship. Sure they were crazy about each other, but he was a Hanson and she a Hanson fan. They never really thought about it, but the very soul of their relationship seemed to be based on him, a star, and her, a star searcher. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was 8 AM, and the sun creaked into the boys’ room through their window, reflecting on Taylor’s eyes. He didn’t feel like getting up today, but he couldn’t sleep either. The second the sun peered into the room, and woke Tay, he began thinking of the meeting between him, Hallie, and Victoria. Who could sleep?
“Aww, man,” he groaned, “It’s already Tuesday. That only gives me five more days until I have to talk to Hallie and Victoria about everything.”
He fell back into his pillow, embedding his face in fluffy, white feather pillow. He still hadn’t thought about what he was going to say to them, either. He would have to figure it out soon, though.
“I think I need to talk to Zac about this. Chrissy and he get along so well. I wonder what holds their relationship together,” Tay pondered.
Slowly, he arose from his bed, blinking his eyes a few times. He looked up to Isaac sleeping like a baby. But, Zac wasn’t in his bed. He was already awake.
Taylor dragged his feet into the kitchen for breakfast, “Hey, Mom. Where’s Zac?”
Looking up from the dishes, Mrs. Hanson replied, “Zac? You just missed him. He just left for Chrissy’s. What are you doing awake so early, Tay?”
“Can’t sleep, I guess,” shrugged the sixteen-year old boy.
“Sweetie,” his mom looked at him with pity, “go back to bed. You look exhausted.”
“Thanks, Mom.”
Continuing on with the dishes, Mrs. Hanson told him, “You know I didn’t mean it like that, Tay…”
“Yeah, I know,” he promised. “When will Zac be back?”
“Probably not until almost 3 o’clock, why?” she questioned.
“I dunno,” explained Taylor, “because he’s my brother and I like talking to him. I was looking forward to talking to him today, and I wake up, and he’s gone.”
“What’s so important?”
“You wouldn’t understand, trust me,” Tay promised her, averting her eyes.
“Who says I wouldn’t?” she inquired.
Taylor turned around to face his mom, “Yeah?”
“Is what you talked to Isaac about the other day still bothering, you, sweetheart?” she asked, curiously, but half knowing that she was right.
“Actually, yeah,” he assured her. “But I don’t wanna talk about it right now. I’m sorry, Mom. I think I’ll go back to bed now…”
“Okay,” she smiled at him, as she watched her son slowly stride back to his room for more rest. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Meanwhile, and Chrissy’s house, Chrissy and Zac were playing on her Playstation. They were having a blast. It felt so good to be home, finally.
“You bet me, again!” exclaimed Chrissy, in shock.
Snickering, Zac replied, “Your losing your touch…”
“No, I’m not!” laughed Chrissy, hitting him over the head with a pillow. “How could say that?”
“Simple,” he laughed, “I’m winning.”
“Oh, shut up,” she joked.
Putting his controller down, Zac asked her, “Do wanna keep playin’ or not? I really don’t feel like playing anymore, but I’ll play another game if you want to.”
“I was about to tell you the same thing,” she acted astounded.
“We think too much a like,” Zac told her.
“I know.”
Zac jumped up onto her bed, bouncing up and down, “Your bed is really bouncy, you know that? I’m surprised that when you lie down to go to sleep you don’t fly off, and are like….’AHHHHH! BOOM!’”
He added sound effects for amusement, she laughed, “Well, if it were like that, wouldn’t you be like, ‘AHHHHH! BOOM!’, right now?”
“True.”
“You’re crazy, Zac,” Chrissy stressed, laughing.
“For you,” Zac gave her a wide, gap-toothed grin, as he looked into her eyes.
Immediately, she blushed, and tried to hide her face behind her hands, but it was no use. Chrissy was already fire engine red, and there was nothing that she could do about it, except to let herself blush furiously.
“You’re a sweetie,” she smiled.
“Hey, come sit up here with me,” Zac suggested, patting a seat next to him on the bed. “I wanna ask you something…”
“Okay,” she said, as she hopped up beside him.
Lying back, he inquired, “Have you ever though about our relationship? Like, the kind of relationship that we have?”
“Of course,” Chrissy promised, “we have a fantastic relationship.”
“No, no,” corrected Zac, “I don’t mean that. I mean, like for example, there’s relationships where there are skaters and preps dating, and so on. You know?”
“Oh, I see what you mean,” she thought about the subject for a second. “Well, let’s see, you are a part of Hanson, and I’m a Hanson fan. That’s the only connection I can make.”
“…And that’s the exact connection I was thinking about,” he informed her.
“So? What about it?”
“Haven’t you ever thought that was a little weird?” asked Zac. “I mean, think about it, you were a Hanson fan before you met me. Do you think you were obsessed?”
“Yeah, and I still am,” smiled Chrissy.
“See, that’s just it. Don’t you think it’s a little strange that I’m dating someone who’s obsessed with me?” questioned Zac.
“No, not really,” she shrugged at the question.
“Let me put it differently,” he suggested. “I’m dating someone, who just the summer before spent days, weeks, and months of pinning my pictures to her wall.”
“Zac,” started Chrissy, “do you wanna break up with me or something. Because if that’s what you are getting at, just say it.”
“No!” he exclaimed. “That’s not what I’m getting at, at all. I’m just saying, it’s like, well, ironic.”
“Whatever.”
“Don’t tell me you’re mad at me now for bringing this up?” Zac raised his eyebrows.
“Maybe I am,” she provoked anger.
Nearly slapping himself, Zac inquired, “But, why? I was just thinking of something that most other people would think odd, too.”
“Only if they were you,” she retorted.
“I can’t believe this,” Zac shook his head in disbelief.
“I don’t know why you brought it up,” Chrissy told him. “I mean, Zac, you found someone in Los Angeles you like more than me, tell me, please?”
“Chrissy, that could never happen.”
Averting her eyes, she commented, “Zaccie, I thought we had a strong relationship. It seemed as if we never had any problems, almost. I guess I was wrong about you…”
Her voice faded as Zac sat there in complete restraint, unable to move, or speak. He was hoping this wasn’t the end of their beautiful relationship. Chrissy was his first love and he didn’t want it to end. He had worked so hard to gain back her trust after confessing that he had previously cheated on her with Kelly. That was all in the past now, though. And the past was where he wanted it to stay. Zac was praying that she didn’t give up what he knew they had. He felt like jumping up and processing his love for her, but couldn’t. Chrissy’s tone of voice strangled him, and pinned him to the floor. Zac didn’t want their relationship to end, he was just confused that’s all. Being confused with love is natural, not sure whether to break it off or hold on for dear life, right?
