Chapter 2- A Brother's Love...Is Torture

Isaac's car ride home was difficult. He could barely keep his mind on the road. He couldn't wait to tell Tay about Kat. He felt that he had met the girl of his dreams. She was so perfect to him. Little did he know that his younger brother, would be there to shatter his dream world with Kat into thousands of little pieces.

Isaac slammed the door behind him. "Tay?! Where are you?!" yelled his older brother. "Where is that boy when you need him?" Isaac walked into the family room, searching for his younger brother, Taylor, who seemed nowhere to be found.

Mr. Hanson yelled from the hall, "Ike, Tay's not here!"

Ike got a disappointed look on his face and asked, "Where'd he go, Dad?" This was one of the first times, besides performing onstage, where he actually wanted his brother to be there. And was he there? No.

Zac walked into the room and interrupted, "What's the rush, Ike?"

"I need to find Tay. I wanna talk to him about something."

"Did something happen at the store?" Zac inquired.

"I'll tell you later, alright? Right now, I just wanna go to my room and think and wait for Taylor to get home," Ike said, getting up and starting to walk towards his room.

"Okay, see ya."

Ike slammed the door, leaned against it, and sighed. He had to think about what had happened. It was only his first day home, and already he'd gotten a phone number. Time was definitely on his side.

Meanwhile, Taylor was over at his friend, Sean's house. It was nearing 6 o'clock and for Tay, the night had just begun. Taylor and Sean were flipping through the channels, looking for something good to watch.

"Sean? Have you noticed that there hasn't been anything on TV for the past..." Tay flipped his wrist over to see his watch, "...hour and a half?"

"Yeah," Sean answered with little enthusiasm. "But, like you'd notice. You're always on the screen. You haven't seen the other side of the camera fir awhile."

Hey!" Tay snapped, a little insulted by the remark. "I'm still Taylor. I'm still human. I do watch TV at the hotels, just not often."

Sean snickered, "Yeah, the same Taylor with about 60 million more chicks wantin' your body!"

"Shut your hole, Sean," Tsy said, blushing slightly. "How about we give up on the TV and gear up your Playstation?"

"Alright."

Sean plugged in his Playstation. Searching for the right channel for the game he turned toward Taylor, "What game do you want to play?"

"Do you have 'Metal Gear Solid'?" Taylor replied, with a hopeful look on his face.

"Of course, I've got it!"

He rummaged through his Playstation video games, looking for the game that Taylor wanted to play. The game was certainly one of kind. It was kind of a mix of "James Bond: 007" and "Duke Nukem II". A totally awesome video game! Sean put the game into the Playstation after fumbling with it for awhile. Then, he pressed "start".

Picking up the controller, Taylor tucked his golden locks behind his ears, snickered and said nothing more but, "You're going down."

Sean, who had always been competitive with Taylor, shot right back at him with, "Not if I can whip your butt into shape first!" Sean reached for the other controller and the game began.

"Ikey-poohs!" little Jessica Hanson said from behind the boys' room door. "Can I come in?" The 10 year old little girl had noticed her oldest brother's sudden confinement into his room.

"Yeah, why not?" was the only reply she received from Isaac.

She slowly opened the door, making it creak as she opened it, seeing if it was alright to come in.

"Ike, it's 9:32. Have you realized you've been sitting in your room, staring at the wall for the past three and half hours, just about?"

Ike sighed, "I'm waiting for Taylor to get home. Plus, I've been thinking." Suddenly, he remembered Kat, the girl at the grocery store. "What? Wait a minute! Did you say 9:32?!?!"

Jessica nodded.

"Oh my gosh! Thanks for reminding me! I was supposed to call someone over two hours ago!"

Puzzled, Jess said slowly, "Anytime, Isaac..."

Isaac raced to the kitchen to get the cordless phone but, with a sudden stop, saw his mother already occupied deeply, with a conversation on the phone with one of her friends. You could see the look of impatience and aggravation in this 17 year old's dark brown eyes.

Mrs. Hanson looked up and saw her son, "I'll be off in five minutes," she mouthed.

Isaac, disgusted, rolled his eyes and started walking back towards his room. He was only about half way to his room before he heard his mom yell for him.

"Ike, I'm off the phone!" Mrs. Hanson yelled from the kitchen, clicking off the phone.

Ike raced for the phone. He turned it on and dialed Kat's number. The phone rang while Isaac waited with anticipation, praying that she'd pick up.

"Hello?" said a voice, a familiar voice. It was Kat. She'd picked up the phone.

"Hi, Kat? It's Ike."

"Oh, hey! How's it goin'?" She was smiling as she talked. You could tell by the tone of her voice.

"Great! Just great. I'm sorry I didn't call you earlier," Ike apologized.

"That's alright. I needed time to relax, anyway," she laughed.

Then, Isaac heard a door close. Someone was home. Maybe, to his luck, that someone would be Taylor.

"Hey, Kat? Can you hold on a sec? Someone is home..." Ike asked.

"Sure."

Ike put the phone down, ,making sure not to hang it up, and hurried to see who'd come inside. To his luck, Tay was kneeling at the front door, tying his shoe.

"Hey, Tay! You wouldn't believe what happened at the store today!"

Tay looked up and said, "Astonish me."

Ike spilled everything about meeting Kat as fast as he could. About how he felt stupid about not knowing where the Jell-O was to where she finally admitted to knowing who he was.

"Well," Tay finally spoke, "I did say 'astonish me'!"

"I gotta go though! I'm on the phone with her now!"

Ike went back into the kitchen and saw Avery about to hang up the phone.

"No! No! No!" he yelled, taking the phone. "I'm talking to somebody, Avie."

"Sowwy," Avery apologized in her cute and sweet baby girl voice.

Ike finally talked into the receiver to Kat, "Hey, Kat? Sorry, I took so long to get back."

"That's alright," Kat said. The entire time she was on hold, she barely noticed how long he had been gone. She was too happy.

Ike hadn't noticed that Tay had walked up behind him and was listening. Tay sat there half an hour before a micheivous streak fell upon him. He went up to Ike and snatched the phone from his hand.

"Hey!" yelled Ike.

"Hey, Kat! This is Taylor!"

Ike could hear her sweet voice talking on the other end of the phone to his brother, Taylor.

"You know what, Kat? I just really wanted to tell you that I think Ike has a major crush on you!" Tay snickered as he looked up at Ike.

Isaac heard her laughing at him. Kat was actually laughing at his feelings for her. He didn't understand how she possibly could hurt him like that.

The more that Tay and she talked, the more pissed off Isaac got. Tay saw it in his eyes and went to top off his anger. To put Isaac through the roof!

"Do you wanna do somethin' this weekend, Kat?" Tay smiled as he asked her.

"Alright, where and what time?" Kat inquired.

"Meet me in front of the Blue Rose Cafe and we will take it from there, okay?"

"Okay, sounds great to me! I guess I'll see you then. Bye!" She hung up he phone with a light "click" of the phone.

Tay hung up the phone, smiling wide, "Looks like I got a date with your lover, Ikey-poohs..."

What the hell did you do that for you bastard?!" Ike screamed, so loud it could have shaken the house. "I never want to see you in the house again!"

Taylor laughed, "I live here, remember?"

"Well, if you live here, then I'm leaving!" Isaac said still yelling loud as ever. And with that, there was a slamming door that cued that Isaac was heading for the van outside.
