Cunningham's assistant Geoff Garrett says that it is "still up in the air which project will go forward first. New Line has reviewed the first draft of Jason X and is very excited about the project. They have expressed their commitment to making both projects happen. We are doing our best to get one of the projects off the ground as soon as possible... We are still moving forward as much as possible to prep Jason X so if it ends up getting the first greenlight, we will be ready to go immediately." All that can be said for now is that the film will take place in a setting far removed from Crystal Lake and will not follow the concepts introduced in Jason Goes to Hell such as the "Hellbaby" and body hopping. Kane says he loves the new script. I'll keep you posted with any and all breaking news.
