The Lending
Borrowing happiness is no deal
Happiness can be shared by you
Oh! Prithee come, share, what I feel
You suffer, whatever, I may undo
Happiness, a piece of transient peace
Comes like dew drops in the morn
To quench the thirst of the wilful heart
That by grief time and again is torn
All my smiles are meant for you
But if you are not too absorbed
To pay heed to what may ensue
To get me the sum of anguish solved
A life fraught with fair and unfair
Is the oddest blend of weal and woe
To lead a gay life is so rare
When I don’t know who is my foe
When I don’t see what a straight path is
When I don’t care for the right and wrong
When I don’t feel what the God’s wrath is
When I don’t listen to the Nature’s song
Let us be straightforward and lend
A hand, a happy thought, a smile
Oh! Dear! it’s never too late to mend
Forget all your woes for a while
