On May 1, 1992, a young man by the name of Wong Hei made his debut in the show business in a radio program called "Evil Beast's City" as a DJ of Hong Kong Commercial Radio. Gifted an ingenious mouth and a witty brain, Wong Hei was very successful on the air. From 1992 to 1995, he hosted many programs and was highly praised. So what's next? He has a clever mouth, what else is there? Wong Hei began to explore in acting. By the end of 1995, he participated in several movies and a TVB series as the lead actor, the series was called "Nothing to Declare" [ ½r ¨p ¸s ^ ]. He received several praises and the year after, 1996, his memorable role as Chef Yu Chi Tak in "Food of Love" was truly successful. He was nominated "Best New Comer" award by Next TV Awards, in which he won; and RTHK TV Awards, in
which he lost to Maggie Cheung Ho Yee. After 1996, Wong Hei's career stepped higher. Became a TVB contracted artist. Made numerous of valueable traveling shows and advertisements. Not to mention how well his TVB series is doing. His character as Ho Ko Sing in TVB's version of Mulan (Fa Mok Lan) is totally different than most of his characters in a series. Very clever and righteousness, but also very greedy, cheap, and sarcastic. Still, he prooved he can do it and how versatile he can be. Recently with the release of "Burning Flame" many
people said his acting has improved and hoping Wong Hei can take on more challenging roles in the future. Wong Hei's management company requested if he could become a singer, Hei agreed and is excited about it. (courtesy of MDN)
