Trip to the Oregon Coast 2008

Thurday we get up and this is the day we are due home. That morning I spoke with another motel guest and they told me about a beach that you can drive on for miles, and find tons of sand dollars. It is called Del Rey beach and it is just north of Gearhart. It is a very awesome beach. BE WARNED THOUGH, no bathroom facilites, and do not walk through the grass with shorts!!!! I don't know what was in that grass, but when I got back to the car, my legs itched so bad, and had welts all over them. I had to stop at a Riteaid and get some cream to put on them. I would like to spend more time at that beach though, and drive up and down it. Once again, I did not drive on it, due to Rick's voice in the back of my head. Teehee....

We head off towards Portland, Oregon, and we go to OMSI to an IMAX theater. WOW! What an experience! It was a documentary on Mummies, and what an interesting show. You walked out of there wanting to know more about mummies. Information on the Imax Theater.

Our next stop was the Grotto on the corner of Sandy Blvd, and 85th ST. I always like to go there, it is so peaceful. There is two levels to it. You take an elevator 110 feet up in the air to the gardens above. They have expanded and improved the gardens since I was there last, and it is so very nice and beautiful, AND Peaceful! It is worth the stop to visit it.

This statue was inside the building below. It is a place of meditation.

This is the OUTSIDE alter and they have masses at noon on Sunday's till September.

This is inside the church to the left of the Grotto Alter.

More Information on the Grotto.

We leave Portland at 3:30 PM and got home at 6:30 PM. It was a great week, and I can't wait to do it all over again! LOL

Home!
