Judgement Day May 19, 2002 XShaneFallenX
If today was judgment day then we are all going to hell. Though I enjoyed many of the matches, the ppv was just not worthy of much praise as a whole. Here is my thoughts on what transpired... (1*=shitty as hell 5*'s= awesome!!!)
WWE Intercontinental Championship Match:Eddie G vs. Rob Van Dam
this was a great match. The moves were there and Eddie winning surprised me! Great spots and fun to watch, but let it end. This match doesn稚 need to happen again. ****
WWE Women's Championship Match:Stacy Keibler vs. Trish Stratus
Reverend D-Von and Deacon Bautista came down to ringside
before the match started to join Stacey, then Bubba joined Trish. This match was pitiful to say the least. One botched spot after another. Complete garbage that was overshadowed by more garbage. D Von and Bubba feuded and the WWE has once again proved they suck by turning a great prospect (Leviathan) into a waste of time shit character (Deacon Bautista) they took a newcomer that could have been a huge force to be reckoned with and ended the poor guy's career before it even started. Oh yeah...Trish won via a dogshit looking bulldog and the match only gets a star at all because Trish is beautiful...* (out of pity)
The Hardy Boyz vs. Brock Lesnar & Paul Heyman
well...at least it wasn't a total squash, but it sickens me that Lesnar prevailed. The match was semi-entertaining during the parts that the Hardyz were in control, but I noticed that Brock almost fucked up the sit down face buster again! That move is not his cup of tea to take! The end was sad as Paul Heyman pinned Jeff after Brock hit him with a half assed version of his finisher. This match upsets me because the Hardyz are supposed to be 'one of the most decorated tag teams in the WWF/WWE's history!!!' yet they can't beat one man as a combined unit? I don't know. I guess I知 a Hardyz mark so maybe I知 way off track, but that just seems lame. **1/2
Handicap Match:Steve Austin vs. Big Show & Ric Flair
Austin dominated for a long ass time with no offense by either flair or the show, but they later got the upper hand and a long, drawn out, bore fest ensued. This match was somewhat watchable because of flair but I still felt sleepiness all around me. X-Pac later interferes and Austin stuns the show, flair, and x-Pac then pins flair. I applaud...not for the match, but because it ended. *1/2
Hair vs. Hair Match:Kurt Angle vs. Edge
This match was awesome! These guys know how to wrestle! I can't say anything bad about this match as it was pure entertainment! This was a good reason to watch the ppv. Edge pulls off the victory with a quick roll up and angle runs away trying to save his hair! This match entertained!!! ****1/2
Hell in a Cell Match:Triple H vs. Chris Jericho
this was my big interest of the night. Anyone who knows me is aware that Chris Jericho is my favorite worker in the WWE today. I also enjoy HHH, but I知 sick of his never-ending push. I knew he would win, but something just let me hope that Jericho would pull it off. This match was pillar to post mayhem with some great moves added in to the mix. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the match and couldn't have asked for much more. (Except a different outcome) ladders were involved, chairs, announce tables, barbed wire bats, the cage, and the top of the cell. It was awesome to behold and stole the night's remaining energy, which would never be found again after this match. HHH won the match with a pedigree onto the top of the cell. I was near tears. Jericho needed to win this match to have a chance of staying on top. HHH did not. He won though. The match gets ****1/2 stars and would have had 5 if the outcome were reversed. Sorry...I知 a Jericho mark and I think it was a bad career move for him to lose.
WWE Tag Team Championship Match:Billy and Chuck vs. Rikishi and a mystery partner?
I was hoping for a cool mystery partner, but I got Rico. Rico and Rikishi accidentally win the match, and now Billy and chuck's stylist has one half of their belts! Big deal...this match sucked. It was supposed to make the next match look good. It failed at that as well... *
during a break...edge and angle get into it again and edge gets angle into a sleeper then he finally cuts angle's hair! It was funny shit and woke me back up but then...
WWE Undisputed Championship Match:Hogan vs. The Undertaker
the only thing worse than this God-awful disgrace was the undertaker's new theme music! What the fuck was that?!?!?!? Anyway.... onto the match. I believe I counted 8 actual moves performed between the two of these worn out old men combined. For a company that mocked WCW for using old timers, the WWE sure hasn't much room to speak. This match was pitiful! From start to finish and the fans were hardly into it either. They just watched two youthful greats like Jericho and Helmsley beat each other senseless in a cage and then they get two geriatric fucksticks punching and kicking each other for a short 15-minute match that felt like a 4-hour eternity. The undertaker's first attempt at a chokeslam was one of the worst spectacles mine eyes have been witness to...other than the attempt at a half crab he made, proving why these two can only punch and kick. Vince McMahon then comes down and makes the match even worse! The undertaker ends up nailing Hogan from behind with a chair, then he does a semi passable chokeslam and everyone's worst nightmare becomes reality. Something worse than Hogan winning the title...the undertaker's worthless, in dire need of retirement, ass wins the belt?!?!?!?! God help me this is sickening. Then to top it off...he puts the belt on his fat gut all crooked and we have to hear his shitty ass new theme music again!!! Dammit all to hell!!! Then he goes in and attacks Hogan again, 'for the honor of his broken motorcycle' and I知 left praying for the end to hurry itself. This was honestly one of the most embarrassing matches I致e seen in recent memory and two men that have performed this long should be ashamed of their selves...hell anyone should be! This match gets no stars and would get negative stars if I could give it, for being worse than nails grinding across a chalkboard to sit through.
Overall the pay per view gets 4/10 better luck next month in Columbus, Ohio!!!
