Canankaran is a small wiry man, black haired, cleanshaven, with an impudent grin and wide green eyes. Although he appears to be in his thirties, he claims to be an (unspecified) amount older. He is a close friend of Kersaeda, but gets on poorly with Dralar, who finds his levity offensive. Canankaran exacerbates this by his fondness for jokes, elaborate word-jests and the like. He already has a bloodfeud with one warrior he teased a little too much, and it is reckoned that he will get others, although the oaths of allegiance all of Halstar's henchmen have taken prevents them fighting.
