Malacuzzi

A malacuzzi is a small creature shaped somewhat like a furred snake, with membranous wings that stretch the length of its body. These are tipped at the joint with small sharp claws, and there is a further set tipping the vestigial hind legs. On the ground they loop along like inch worms, but are quite graceful in the air. They are blood suckers, and will lie in wait on cliffs or up trees for a target to walk near, then launch themselves onto it and take a good bite. Then they cling on, sucking at the wound. Even large predators may be overcome by a swarm of malacuzzi.
