Mescalior divides his time between his father's house (a comfortable but undistinguished place facing Kalamar island across the middle channel) and the house his brother Tomarrion inherited from an uncle. In the former he works as a clerk assisting his father on business - as much as possible, he escapes to Tomarrion's house where the two brothers indulge a taste for living outside their means. Things were looking a little grim until Tomarrion came into funds - he says from a big job (which he is forbidden to discuss, due to the terms of the client) - after all, Tomarrion is a full journeyman of the guild now, and he has hinted that soon he might engage Mescalior, allowing him to leave his father's house for good.
Mescalior is tall, but has a pronounced stoop. He wears his dark hair long and tied back like Montani (who he secretly admires for his decisiveness) and unusually, has no beard.
