Scream
When Principal Himbrey is in his office alone, someone knocks on his door. The second or third time this happens he quickly opens the door and says something like "Little Shits!" Then the janitor looks up and says "Talking to me?" The principal replies by saying "Not you Fred." The janitor is wearing a red and green shirt, just like Freddy Krueger. Also, the janitor is played by Wes Craven himself.
At the very end of the movie, right before the credits, ghostface makes a quick appearance. He only appears for a few frames. The same thing happened in "The Exorcist" where you could see the priest for a few frames.
Tatum mentions the fictional director "Wes Carpenter", this is a reference to director Wes Craven, who directed Scream, and John Carpenter, who directed Halloween.
When Casey's (Drew Barrymoore) parents come home and see that something is wrong, her father says to her mother, "Go down the street to the Mackenzies' house..." which is a quote from Halloween.
Look closely at the first reporter to approach Sidney when she arrives at school. The reporter is Linda Blair.
Skeet Ulrich plays a character named Billy Loomis. Loomis is also the name of Donald Pleasance's name in Halloween.
The film was originally going to be filmed at a school in Santa Rosa, CA, but when the school board read the script they thought it was to violent and filming was moved to Healdsburg, CA, so in the "Thanks" section of the credits it says, "No thanks whatsoever to the Santa Rosa City School District Governing Board"
Dewey asks Sidney who she think she would be played by if her life was a movie. She replies by saying, "With my luck it would probably be Tori Spelling. Well, in Scream 2, Tori Spelling plays Sidney Prescott in Stab.
