There is a connection between the show recommdations below and "The Avengers". Some shows were filmed in the 1960's, like T.A. A few feature crime fighting heroes and heroines who are out to save the world, or at least their hometown! You will notice that most of the shows listed are British, some with a spy theme. Another thing that most of my recommendations have in common are that they are "cult" series- especially Buffy, Angel, and Keeping Up Appearances. Two were chosen because of their upper-class lifestyle- Keeping Up Appearances (now on PBS), and Frasier (on NBC). I have seen about half of my recommedations. Many are either on home video, reruns on cable, or both.
