Here are some trivia facts:

Emma was originally going to be called Samantha.

Elizabeth Shepherd was the first Emma Peel.

A new theme song and title sequence were created for the fourth season.

Some of Cathy's (Honor Blackman)scripts, such as "The Charmers" were rewritten for Diana's Emma Peel ("The Correct Way to Kill").

Several of the color episodes spoofed other 1960's TV shows like "Batman" ("The Winged Avenger").

Steed was slightly injured in only 3 episodes: "Death at Bargain Prices", "Silent Dust", and "The Joker".

Emma was tied up a whopping 17 times and emprisoned 8 times.

Another '60's phenomenon, The Beatles, were reported to be watching an Avengers episodes before a concert.

Ambassador Brodny mentions that he has tickets to the "next Beatles concert" in "The See-Through Man".

More on Brodny- he hates vodka and loves British gin.

Both actresses Honor Blackman (Cathy) and Diana Rigg (Emma)left "The Avengers" to star in James Bond films.
