عمّ رسول اللّه، وأبا سلمة بن عبد الأسد المخزومي، ثويبة عتيقة أبي لهب. </span><span

موته في النوم فقيل له: ما حالك؟ فقال: في النار، إلا أنه يخفّف عني كل أسبوع
يوماً واحداً وأمص من بين إصبعيَّ هاتين ماء ـ وأشار برأس إصبعه ـ وان ذلك اليوم
هو يوم إعتاقي ثويبة عندما بشّرتني بولادة النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام ، بإرضاعها

Arial;color:black'>، ثم راح جده يبحث عن المرضعات ويجد في إرساله إلى البادية ،
ليتربى في أحضانها فينشأ فصيح اللسان ، قوي المراس، بعيداً عن الامراض والاوبئة إذ
البادية كانت معروفة بطيب الهواء وقلة الرطوبة وعذوبة الماء وسلامة اللغة، وكانت
مراضع بني سعد من المشهورات بهذا الأمر بين العرب، حيث كانت نساء هذهِ القبيلة
التي تسكن حوالي (مكة) ونواحي الحرم يأتين مكة في كل عام في موسم خاص يلتمسن
الرضعاء ويذهبنَ بهم إلى بلادهنّ حتى تتم الرضاعة <a style='mso-footnote-id:ftn3'

وكانت خديجة أم المؤمنين تكرمها ، وقيل أنها طلبت من أبي لهب أن تبتاعها منه
لتعتقها فأبي أبو لهب ، فلما هاجر رسول الله –صلى الله عليه وسلم – إلى المدينة أعتقها
أبو لهب <a style='mso-footnote-id:ftn5' href="#_ftn5" name="_ftnref5" title=""><span
class=MsoFootnoteReference><span dir=LTR style='mso-special-character:footnote'><![if !supportFootnotes]>[5]<![endif]></span></span></a>،
وهذا الخبر ينفي ما روي سابقا بأن أبا لهب أعتقها لبشارتها له بميلاد النبي صلى
