عهدها، ويؤكد ودها، ويعتذر من فراقها بالخطب الذي خشيه، والامتحان الذي غشيه،
ويعلمها أنه ما سلاها بخمر ولا خبا ما في ضلوعه من ملتهب الجمر، وهي قصيده ضربت في
الإبداع بسهم، وطلعت في كل خاطر وهم، ونزعت منزعا قصر عنه حبيب بن أوس الطائي (

المستكفي كانت من أروع الشعراء والأدباء في شعرها حيث كانت لها مكانة مميزة في
الشعر، وقد تركة وفاة فراغا كبيرا في نفوس محبيه وقد عمرت عمرا طويلا، ولم تتزوج
وماتت لليلتين خلتا من صفر سنة ثمانين، وقيل أربع وثمانين وأربعمائة، وكان أبوها
