Spec Innvocata, by Evelyn Dupree
The road
ending before you can stop.
Cold air
ripping against your hairs.
The fire eating your flesh…
as your sun sets
for the last time.
Screaming the void
closed.
Beg and pray
and invoke
a Benediction
to a false god
who laughs at your light and darkness.
No hope.
The Spec Innvocata
bowing to the guillotine.
Light screaming
running
seeing…
Innocent smiles
forever demeaning.
All is dark.
You look around
and see nothing of mine.
So you
pull it.
Bullet.
Then die.
