This fix-up was done using CG's Aileron Horn package
Instructions are provided on the cover of the package, but if you want to attemp the fix-up on your own I have provided some instructions.
1. For the duraplane, you will have to bend a piece of music wire threaded on one end inside of a copper tube. Make sure to bend the wire after it is inside the tube. See diagram below
2. Next, On the back part of the aileron make an oval recess the curvature of the brass tube so that it can fit in between the aileron and the trailing edge. See diagram below.
3. Place the copper tube with the music wire inside into the recess and make sure that it is flush. Also, leave the threaded end sticking out about 1" past the end of the aileron.
4. Now, drill a 1/16" hole in the aileron so that the bent music wire can be inserted. You will realize that this is the way the aileron will be able to move.
5. Rough sand the brass tubing and epoxy it into place
6. All you have to do now is hinge the aileron on to the trailing edge and thread the horn bracket into place.
The end result should look somewhat like this: To make Your other Linkages easier to adjust inside the plane click here
