This question leads to much discussion, opinion and debate. And in fact, contention. Within Christianity the most common view is a form of doctrine known as "replacement theology".
This article will deal with the issue of this doctrine. Be aware that at the heart of this topic is the answer to the identity of the covenant people of G-d , as well as the importance of Torah. The answer may suprise you.

To start this important study, we should first turn to the words of Yeshua.
“Do not think that I came to destroy the law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to complete. For truly, I say to you, till the heaven and the earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall by no means pass from the law till all be done.” Matthew 5:17-18
According to Yeshua's own words ... His own mind you, not some denominarion, not some preacher, but His own... He did not come to CHANGE the Torah of HaShem. During His teaching ministry on the earth, Yeshua walked in and promoted the Torah. No where in the gospel accounts, do we find a removal, replacement or destruction of HaShem's written Word by the Messiah. In all places where the L-rd is confronted by those who would seek cause to condemn Him within the framework of Torah, not only does Yeshua uphold Torah but directs the listener to the highest understanding of it.
THE TERMS OF THE NEW COVENANT
Looking at the scriptures that define the New Covenant we find again, not a destruction of the Torah, but instead an embracing of the Torah on a greater level.
"This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the LORD. I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people." Jer 31: 33
"This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds." Heb 10:16
PAUL AGREES
Paul holds the same position. For remember to contradict the L-rd, Paul would be in error. It is a shame what unlearned men have done to the writings of this servant of the L-rd. Paul did not encourage a rejection or abolishing of the Torah. On the contrary. He affirmed the Torah
"Do we then nullify the law through the belief? Let it not be! On the contrary, we establish the law." Rom 3:31
"So that the law truly is set-apart (holy), and the command set-apart, and righteous, and good." Rom 7:12
THE TORAH IS FOR G-D'S PEOPLE
All over the world, people are returning to Torah. Christians are digging, with a hunger they can barely explain, into the Jewish roots of the faith. Seeking to understand a first century walk with the L-rd, they are taking hold of the Sabbath and feasts.
Many will attempt to minimize this working of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit). The religious will explain it away as lack of commitment to a local church or even fanaticism. But make no mistake about it; this is as the prophets foretold. Only in ignorance will this restoration be seen as anything other than profound.
Unfortunately, the reaction of many inside the walls of Christianity will be to resist, reject and even halt this restoration. This attitude is the result of a satanically inspired doctrine that is at the heart of the church deception.
THE DISEASE OF REPLACEMENT THEOLOGY
Replacement theology is a leprosy. Eventually it consumes all that was once alive. While it takes on different forms the core of this teaching is rejection. Rejection of G-d's Word and rejection of His family . It establishes a "new entity" know as the "church" to replace G-d's distinct people. Then it claims all of her rights, privileges, and promises without any of her responsibilities.
Where did this teaching come from? Was it spoken of by the prophets? No. Did Yeshua herald it? No.
FROM THE GROUND OF REBELLION
Early church fathers, which never relinquished their pagan heritage and beliefs, amalgamated their customs and practices with the followers of Messiah. The result was a Roman based organization called "the church". This "New Israel" would replace G-d's chosen as the bride. All scriptures pertaining to Israel or Jerusalem in a positive light would be transferred spiritually to the "church". Anytime a passage spoke of judgment it conveniently remained pointing to the Jews.
In order to promote this distortion of truth, a gentile Messiah was created. Blonde eyed, pork eating, Easter celebrating "Jesus" , who abolishes the unchanging Torah of Elohim at the cross and establishes His NEW BRIDE at Pentecost as the Answer to the thorn in the devils side - Israel.
This evil teaching of the church replacing Israel as G-d's people resulted in the greatest of man's atrocities. History records for us the twisted thinking of men inspired by the archenemy of HaShem using this doctrine for the purposes of eradicating the covenant people.
Martin Luther as well as other protestant reformers called for the annihilation of the Jewish race from Europe. The inquisition and pogroms have their birth in this perverted teaching. Adolf Hitler would grab hold of this cancer and use it to launch the most hideous attempt at removing the Jewish people from the earth. With, I might, the support of the Roman Catholic Church.
IS THE HATRED STILL ALIVE
Think not that this disease has been removed from the church simply because Hitler is gone. Do not be fooled with the pretentious words of acceptance and love from the pulpit. The Jew has been given no future at all within the teaching of Christianity, unless he repents ... NOT OF SIN ... oh, no, but of all thats make him Jewish (Sabbath, feasts, kashruit laws, etc) . Then he must embrace the pagan "Church". To hold onto anything Jewish is anti- Christ and legalistic. Jewish practices are NOT welcomed in the "church".
Torn from the rich soil that was her heritage(Romans 11), this man made organization has accepted the most outrageous and ridiculous teachings. For in rejecting the soil from which she comes, this invention of the rebellios heart, has laid aside G-d's eternal Word, reaching out and claiming whatever tickles her ear. She has dressed herself in a "form of godliness" while denying the very power thereof.
Think about it. The "church" wants the world to convert to her morals and beliefs. Insisting that they are the road to G-d. Charging forward with the 10 commandments, she proclaims to be the witness of the One True G-d, who never changes. At the same time, her ministers stand in the pulpit telling her own followers that G-d's laws have passed away and are no longer applicable. Talk about mixed messages.
The contradiction is evident . He's the same, no He isn't. All scripture is of G-d, the first part no longer pertains to us, you must live by the good book and the 10 commandments, the law is dead. Hello!
DEVESTATING RESULTS
Let's illuminate some of the false teachings of Replacement Theology.
1. The Israel has been rejected by G-d.
2. A new family of G-d was born on the day of Pentecost.
3. The Church replaced Israel as G-d's covenant people.
4. Under the New Covenant the law is done away with at the cross.
5. The Church is now the true bride.
6. Scripture must be "spiritualized" and not taken literally.
7. It is the Jews, that must suffer the tribulation hopefully to repent of all their Jewish ways, while the New Israel, the Church is removed.
Not only has this horrible lie pushed away or Jewish brethren , but it has caused idolatry to be called truth.
Examine that list one more time. I just described the core doctrine of the Catholic Church as well as every denomination and non-denomination.
So what's the truth? The ONLY place to look for it is in The Scriptures.
