I would like to start with a simple, yet profound statement. G-d does not violate His own Word. In Malachi we read:
"For I am the L-RD, I change not", Mal 3:6
Then in Matthew, Yeshua says,
"Do not think that I came to destroy the law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to complete. For truly, I say to you, till the heaven and the earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall by no means pass from the law till all be done." Matthew 5:17-18
"He that loves me not keepth not my sayings: and the Word which you hear is NOT MINE, but THE FATHER'S which sent ME". John 14:24
G-d can not change. To do so would violate His own Word. Yeshua told us that He did not come to destroy the Word His Father had already given. Again, to do so would "change" G-d's Word and by virtue, change an unchangeable G-d. Furthermore, the L-rd tells us that His Word is not His own. It is the same Word of the Father. Hey this is really easy. 1+1=2. No big difficulty. G-d doesn't change. Father and Son say the same thing.
AN EVERLASTING COVENANT
All right. Now what about G-d's family?
"And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be ONE FOLD and ONE SHEPHERD". John 10:16.
So there is only One fold or family.
"And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an EVERLASTING COVENANT, to be a G-d unto thee and to thy seed after thee". Gen 17:7
The family began with Abraham. This Covenant is everlasting!
"And I will betroth thee unto Me FOR EVER"; Hosea 2:19
G-d is betrothed to Israel. But Israel was unfaithful. Look again at G-d's response to His bride.
"Turn, O backsliding children, saith the L-RD; for I am married unto you": Jer 3:14
"Surely as a wife treacherously departs from her husband, so have you dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the L-RD". Jer 3:20
Yet we read;
"For Israel has NOT been forsaken, nor Judah of his G-d, of the L-RD of Hosts; though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel". Jer 51:5
"For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee, and as the bridegroom rejoices over his bride, SO SHALL THY G-D rejoice over thee".
Is 62:5
I can go and on, but I think you get the picture. The scriptures clearly show that G-d's promises to the people of Israel are FOR EVER. He is betrothed to them FOR EVER.
Just as HaShem would not allow Hosea to divorce his adulterous wife, G-d does not divorce Israel. Instead He will bring about her repentance and restoration in the last days.
Now can man have more than one intimate covenant partner? No! That would constitute adultery. G-d who is holy and commands His people to walk in holiness established with His unchangeable Word, that adultery is forbidden. Therefore, as man can not have two covenant partners, neither can G-d. Another words, HaShem has ONLY one bride.
UNMASKING DECEPTION
In the second chapter of Ephesians we are told that Messiah has removed any dividing wall between a Jew in the house of faith and a Gentile in the house of faith. According to verse 19, the stranger (Gentile) is no longer a stranger but has become a member of the household of faith. Notice this household already existed. The Gentile is not being made a New household, but is being joined to the one that is already established.
We see this again in Romans chapter 11. Paul explains that the "wild olive" branch is grafted into the existing olive tree. Then he goes on to declare that the branches grafted in are fed by the "roots" and therefore should not boast.
Scripture does not teach that G-d has two families. Neither does it teach that the original family was replaced. What scripture does teach us is that G-d established , by His own will, a family that would bear His name. Furthermore, the word tells us that by His will, G-d shall restore this famliy.
Not a new family, but THE family RENEWED.
CONCLUSION
Israel was , is , and shall be the covenant family of Almighty G-d. His promises have not changed. G-d will restore His bride. He will cleanse her in the last days. So what about the "church"? Where does it fit in? Read on to the next article.
