Yesterday, I went to see the Spice Girls, it was truly brilliant! The lights dimmed and a huge chunk of ice emerged from above, this then turned into a laser show and within minutes the girls were on stage, performing their fifth number one, "Spice Up Your Life". The four relied heavily on tracks they used at their "Spiceworld" concert which included "Say You'll Be There", "Two Become One", "Mama", "Who Do You Think You Are", "Too Much", "Stop", "Viva Forever" and two versions of the debut hit, "Wannabe". Other tracks included "Goodbye" ( where fake snow fell upon the audience ), "Step To Me" and a fantastic cover version of "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday". What struck me most was how good their new material was, you could tell they'd worked to the best of their ability. The costumes worn were designed the same except each had it's own individual colour, Victoria Beckham wore purple, Melanie Gulzar wore green, Melanie Chisholm wore blue and Emma Bunton wore red.

The set had a Christmassy feel to it. White Christmas trees and ice surrounded the two hour performance. Dispite there being no solo performances each Spice Girl was better than another at at least one thing. For example, Melanie Gulzar was the most humourous and Melanie Chisholm was best vocally. Throughout the performance she got very emotional and even started crying at several occasions. With three new tracks, live singing and bands, an ochestra and a choir it was fast and fun. Being a row from the front was brilliant as Melanie Chisholm was pratically next to me. I have some excellent shots of the four awaiting development.

Overall, I'd give it nine and three quaters out of ten, a brilliant performance from one of the most talented groups around.
