Right, I know everyone's already written reviews of the concerts so I'm not gonna bore you all with my review, but I thought I'd write about a few things that nobody seems to have mentioned yet. I was at the concert on Saturday in row P on the floor. I didn't think our seats would be that good but they were brill, right at the end of the row, much better than I expected! I bought the spice beanies (which I don't really think look anything like the girls but hey!) Before the show started everyone in one of the stands suddenly got up and turned around as if they were looking at something. I couldn't see anything but thought it must be David Beckham or something which after reading the papers, I think it must have been. Everyone then started doing a huge mexican wave around the arena, it was wicked!
The show started at 8 after what seemed like a hundred videos on the big screens including music from The Snowman video. (Does anyone know what happened to the 'special guests'?! It was strange that they didn't have a support act.) You all know what happens next and what the set playlist is from other reviews but my personal faves were Wannabe (Spice trademark, what more can I say?! They do a little 'step back in time' bit before the actual song where they do all the associated spice signs like Emma going 'shh' with her finger over her mouth etc! - I hope you get what I mean here!) Say You'll be There (they did a little acapella of the chorus before the actual song which was brill and showed how good their voices are), 2 Become 1 (when Emma and Mel G came down into the front of the audience to choose people to dance with, Emma a little girl, Mel an older guy who she let sing a line of 2 Become 1 in the middle of the song! It sounded so funny!) Never Give Up. (they sang the whole album version this time unlike on the last tour) Goodbye with the snowflakes, the 2 christmas songs, the classic 'I wish it could be Christmas every day' and Slade's 'Merry Christmas' and the emotional Viva Forever (with the two Mels doing the bit at the end that I love!) All the girls' voices were brill, really impressive, Melanie C in particular during songs like Never Give Up on the Good Times and Too Much. Melanie G was really funny as usual, she forgot one of her lines in 2 songs, (one was one of the xmas ones and the other a Spice song, I can't remember which one and it's annoying me!) she laughed it off by singing 'I've forgotten the words' or something like that! She also kept going 'am I standing in the right place?!' Typical mad melanie! There was a lot of funny parts, one being when Mel G started complimenting the audience on their choice of clothes and Mel C, I think it was, saying 'I wouldn't take that as a compliment, coming from Melanie G!' and Mel G going 'That's right, I was voted worst dressed person!' and Mel C replied 'Well I'm worst everything!' 'But we don't care because you lot don't think that do you?!'
They were all really excited and emotional, I think they'd forgotten how much we all love them or something! There were only 3 costume changes, which I didn't think was much compared to the last tour. The whole show was brill (apart from the fact that my stupid camera decided to conveniently break and so I only got about 10 photos of which I don't think half will come out!) as everyone who's been will know, it's a top show, everyone who's going - I wish I were you because I want to go again!, and anyone who's not going I know how you feel because I missed out last time! See ya!
