Solar Eclipse

The Plough

Moon

Transit of Venus

Total Eclipse 11th August 1999

Here are just a few images of the Solar eclipse. They were taken in the South of Wales using a Zenit EM camera with a 200mm lens.

Later I am hoping to add more photos of an astronomical nature, although with the weather we've been having over here lately I don't know how long it's going to take....

as you can see we had cloud for the eclipse, absolutely no sightings of the great meteor storm and the brightest and biggest full moon of the Century was accompanied by the thickest cloud cover of the year.

Ursa Major (The Plough)

This was taken from my back door in South Wales, got rid of the cloud problem at last, just a shame about the light polution...

The Moon

Photo's of the lunar eclipse, totality was of course obscured by cloud

This was taken with a Concord 3045 digital viewed through a Vivitar 700mm telescope on 11th July 2005.

These were taken on 19th October 2005.

The 2004 Transit of Venus.

These were taken in my front garden in South Wales by the writer Benjamin F Jones using a digital camera.

Venus can be observed as a black spot towards the bottom of the solar disc.

This image is not so clear as it was projected onto a canvas.

I have included it here because you can just see Venus to the side of the vapour trail.
