After getting my 91 Civic DX Hatchback with an LS/VTEC motor stolen, I wanted to start on a new project. I’ve always liked the 2nd gen. CRX .I found a 90 CRX Si with a perfect body and interior but the motor was burning mad oil. So I decided to pick it up. The first mod I did to the car was swap out the stock Si motor for a ZC. I decided to use the ZC over the B16a or Integra motors because I wanted to keep the swap a complete “bolt-on” affair. Plus it will save me some $$ since I can use my stock tranny and ECU. Even though the ZC pulls much better than the stock Si motor, it wasn’t as fast as my old Civic DX. I knew BOOST was the only answer. Since the Greddy turbo kit for the 92-95 Civics can work with the ZC powered CRXs and can be bought fairly cheap, I decided to go with the Greddy kit. The CRX drives strong and is totally streetable.
