My Short Review: This is an album that some fans just LOVE and some just HATE. I would have to say it is my favorite album by the band though. Keeping near the classic sound, Collective Soul dishes out "Precious Declaration", "Listen", and "Forgiveness". Which become large radio hits. The album is solidly packed aswell. Song after song is great. Lyrically all the songs focus on the hard legal battle that the band went through between the time of it's release and the self-titled album. Other album hits are "Crowded Head", "Blame", and one of my favorites "Everything". You just can't go wrong with this album! As sells go. It was actually very slow in the start. They have picked up quite well now, and it has gone Platinium. - Anthony Moore My Rating: * * * * AMG Expert Review: Disciplined Breakdown has to be one of only a handful of records inspired by a songwriter's breakup with his manager, but despite its origins, the album is another smartly assembled arena-rock collection from Collective Soul. Ed Roland knows how to co-opt contemporary alternative-rock trends and re-fashion them into hard-rocking anthems, as evidenced by the first single "Precious Declaration." He still has a problem coming up with a consistent set of songs, but Disciplined Breakdown is nearly as slickly entertaining as Collective Soul's eponymous second album, and its best moments indicate that Roland is beginning to develop a distinctive hard-rock style of his own.
