They've been a well kept secret for the past six months and now the final five POPSTARS have been revealed! Sahara MacDonald , Andrea Henry, Mirella Dell'Aquila, Julie Crochetiere and Maiko Watson are SUGAR JONES.
While the girls' identity has been kept from the press and public, Sugar Jones have been busy writing, recording, rehearsing and preparing for this momentus day.
Sugar Jones has teamed up with award-winning writers and producers such as Justin Gray (Snow, McMaster & James) and Jon "Rabbi" Levine (Philosopher Kings, Nelly Furtado and Jacksoul). The girls' own strong musical influences, including Aretha Franklin, lauryn Hill and Macy Gray, have been a major source of inspiration in the studio. Tracks from their upcoming Universal release reflect their musical diversity and are a soulful mix of R&B and pop. Their first radio single "Days Like That " will be premiered April 1st nationally on Global's POPSTARS.
The video for "Days Like That", shot in Toronto, was directed by Noble Jones (Mary J. Blige, Econoline Crush, Big Sugar and I Mother Earth). Tune in for the world premier of the "Days Like That" video on Global, Sunday April 15th.
The young women who are Sugar Jones faced the daunting challenge of auditions, callbacks and bootcamp. They rose to the top, were chosen and have since come together to create a bond that is undeniably special. Through thick and thin their passion and love of the music shines through.
