Daniel B. and Clifford G.
Goodwin

The following information has been provided by Donna Goodwin Vance, daughter and niece,
S.W. Missouri

My dad, Daniel B. Goodwin
AND
his brother Clifford G. Goodwin were BOTH on the Oklahoma.

Dan Goodwin was on the ship from 1936 until it was sunk.
My dad was a survivor (as he was on base) that morning.
His brother did not.

My father and mother were married and had base housing across from Hickam Field. At the time of the attack my father was at home and survived. His name was Daniel B. Goodwin. He passed away in 1988. My dad attended several of the Okla. reunions and Pearl Harbor survivors reunions until he passed away in 1988. His story of that day is in a book by Joe Todd, called the USS OKLAHOMA, Remembrance of a great lady. If anyone can find a copy, it is very interesting reading. Also, I attended the memorial to the USS OKLAHOMA in 1998 in Ok. City. It was a beautiful memorial to those who lost their lives. Mr. Paul Goodyear has worked very hard for years to see that these men have not been forgotten.
Thanks Paul for all your efforts.
