MURPHY'S
LAWS OF COMBAT
* Anything
you do can get you killed, including doing nothing.
* Friendly fire - isn't.
* Tracers work both ways.
* Five second fuzes usually burn in three seconds.
* Mines are equal opportunity weapons.
* Never draw fire; it irritates everyone around
you.
* Incoming fire has the right of way.
* Never forget that your weapon was made by the
lowest bidder.
* Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.
* It's not the one with your name on it; it's the
addressed "to whom it may concern" that you
should worry about.
* If the enemy is within range. So are you.
* The important things are always simple; the simple
are always hard.
* If it's stupid but works, it isn't stupid.
* There is no perfect Battle Plan.
* No plan ever survives initial contact.
* The enemy has a vote.
* If you can't remember, then the
Claymore is pointed towards you.
* If you are short of everything but the enemy,
you are in the combat zone.
* Never share a foxhole with anyone braver than
you are.
* If your advance is going well, you are going to
be ambushed.
