Adirondack Railroad, Lake placid (upstate NY)

Adirondack railroad pictures

The Adriondack railroad had been in active use in the late 1700's and was taken out of service by the state of NY some time in the early 1900's. However the park authorities along with the help of the State of NY, have preserved the railroad for the rail enthusiasts and serve them by offering them a scenic trip through the adirondack forests. The two main stations on this 45 minute long ride are 1) Lake Placid rail depot, on one end and 2) Saramac rail union depot on the other. The below links give you a brief tour of the different scenery and the actual railroad itself.
