MY NOTES:  The parentage of Ransom House is still to be found.  As of this date (16 August 2002) I have found NO mention of a "Judge" House in any and all searches.  The term 'Judge' may be a title rather than his first name.  Notes and questions concerning the info. from Gene Pool (below information) are addressed under "Judge House" - supposedly Ransom's father.   vlww

Edmund West, comp. [database online] Provo, UT:  Ancestry.com, 2000., Gene Pool Individual Records, "Electronic," Ransom House; Birth Date-14 July 1804; Birth Place-Adams Corners, Pomfret, CT; Death Date-9 September 1883; Death Place-Pleasant Valley, Jo Daviess; Marriage Date-5 September 1826; Marriage Place-Oswego,; Spouse-Laura Williams; Father-Judge House; Mother-none listed.

In EVERY census I have found to date - (1850, 1860, 1870, 1880) Ransom (Judge's son) states he (Ransom) was born in Massachusetts.  The only place I have found it stated he (Ransom) was born in Connecticut is the "Gene Pool Individual Records" at Ancestry.com - Ransom also states (whom ever gave information in 1880 census) his Father was born in New York and his mother in  Connecticut.

"Ransom House married Laura Williams in Oswego Co., New York and moved to Jo Daviess Co., Illinois in 1845.  Their children were Bradford, Albert Emerson, Seth Williams, Anna Mariah, Edwin, Harriet, Freeman, Truman, Larry, Mary Jane and Leroy Sunderland.  Ransom died September 9, 1883 and Laura died November 26, 1895.  Both are buried in the 'Old Yankee Hollow' now Plum River Cemetery, Jo Daviess, Co., Illinois (this is about 4 miles out of Stockton)."  quoted from Melvin N. Allen's July 1997 querry on Rootsweb, Illinois, Jo Daviess site.

Were William House (b. Abt. 1845) & Walter House (b.
